McChord Air Force Base (KTCM)

Near Tacoma, Washington, this scenery is a fair representation of McChord AFB's ramp area. Several custom built hangers, including the large double round top hangars needed for the bigger C-17's stationed there. This base also has a ANG Reserve C-130 unit and a busy transient ramp with a couple of F-117's and a Marine HH-46 passing through. Includes night textures and four start up locations. Nothing bigger than a C-130 at the transient ramp start up location or you'll scratch the paint on the Marine -46 (bad thing). Static aircraft can be easliy elminated if desired.

Installation:

Make a new folder called VUSAF_AFB. Under that, make two folders, named Scenery and Texture.

FS2002/scenery/VUSAF_AFB/Scenery
and
FS2002/scenery/VUSAF_AFB/Texture

All .bgl files go into Scenery subfolder and all the rest go into the Texture folder.

Start FS and go into your scenery library menu and add and activate this scenery.

**************Flatten Switch ***************
Then go into the FS2002 defualt folder and find a file called scenery.cfg. Open it and scroll down to the bottom where you will find an entry where you installed and activated this scenery. Add the flatten command below the block of data on this scenery:

(where xxx is the layer number, don't mess with it)
[Area.xxx]
Title=VUSAF_AFB
Local=scenery\VUSAF_AFB
Remote=
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Layer=xxx
Flatten.0=325,N47 07 30,W122 29 30,N47 09 14,W122 29 18,N47 09 11,W122 27 58,N47 07 23,W122 27 56

Copy and paste the above flatten command into place just like the example above. Then save the scenery.cfg file and go back into your scenery library, open it and close it by clicking OK. The scenery is now loaded (once the NOVA textures are in place).

Static Aircraft Elimination
NOTE: If you don't like the static aircraft, simply delete the file in the scenery folder named VUSAF_McChord_Statics.bgl.
